What kind of romance?

On myspace, a reader of romance said that she was happy to meet new romance authors and that she looks forward to reading some of my work. That got me to wondering exactly what type of romance she likes to read, so I thought I'd just ask everyone in my blog:
if you read romance, what type of romance do you like to read? Spicy? sweet? historical? short ones, erotic ones, contemporary? Funny ones, sad ones? What do you dislike in a romance? I'd love to know!

New ATCs up

New ATCs are up here. These are not drawings, and were really fun to make.
Anyone else out there doing ATCs, leave me your link so I can have a look!
Enjoy:)

Emmy Awards and ATCs

I spent yesterday making new mixed media ATCs, and today, it's back to writing. I'll post when I get the ATCs up on my website.

What did you all think of the Emmys last night? I was happy that Terry O'Quinn won. I really like him on Lost. I also wanted Kiefer Sutherland or Hugh Laurie to win. Maybe next time.
Katherine Heigl was entertaining; first the announcer mispronounced her name, and then when she won and said that her own mother said she didn't have a chance in hell, but she's a big supporter, she really does love me! And her mom didn't crack a smile--not at first anyway. I was rolling in the floor:)
Also, Elaine Stritch was hilarious.

The last couple of days we've had great weather; I'm ready for Halloween. I have little orange buckets of candy sitting around, and a few decorations. I'm just happy it's that time of the year; I'm definitely ready for summer to end.

Off to write! I have been neglectful the last couple of days.

Odd People and Nice Doctors

I just remembered that I hadn't done this weeks TT! It's so late now that I think I'll just have to wait until next week. I haven't even thought of any thirteen things to write about. So next week it is.

I need to start writing anyway, I haven't done any today. I did sign up with Facebook, and Bebo, which I've written about. I still prefer MySpace, though. Maybe because I'm more accustomed to MySpace than the others, I don't know.

I'm getting ready to have my website redone; the whole layout, just everything. It's getting a more professional makeover;)

At the doctor this morning, two things happened. One, I took my Harry Potter book-which I've nearly finished, by the way-with me because I knew I was in for a little wait. It had been necessary for me to arrive early, and I always like to catch up on my reading if I'm going to be just sitting around anyway.

Anyway, I went into the waiting room and sat down, opened my book, and started reading. There was only one other woman in the room, and she did two things that really, really annoyed me. One was to totally ignore that I was reading and two was to ask me personal questions!

Now, I'm a nice person, I really am. But this woman, a complete stranger, asking me personal questions, just...wasn't good! And she wouldn't stop! I had my book up to my nose by then, grunting in monosyllables hoping she'd get the hint, but noooooo. Finally, I took me, and my book, informed the receptionist that I was going to wait at the little sitting area at the back of the floor, and that's what I did.

The second thing that happened, and I just thought this was so nice, was that the doctor brought me the book section of his paper-he knows I'm a reader and a writer, and he brought it back to me and just told me that he thought I might want to read it.

Okay, I'm off. Writing time! I think I'll just copy this one to my WordPress blog...

I've Been Found

Tonight I sent off my 15000 + word story to Samhain. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
I wrote the blurb and synopsis today, which seemed to take forever. But it's done, so now I'm in for around a three month wait. The waiting is hard, but in the meantime, I have more to finish and submit.
One of my sisters just informed me that she INVESTIGATED and HUNTED until she found me! Now she knows my pen, for crying out loud! I messed up by putting Ohio in my profiles...and she found me. Argh!
You just can't hide on the internet...

Thursday Thirteen #3

Thirteen Things I did as a child

1…Jacks. Remember that game? I used to play on the kitchen floor of my house
with my sisters.

2...Put peanuts in my Pepsi. Yum! I think I'll do that tomorrow, now that I've
remembered it ;)

3...Sang at flea markets. My brother, who is two years older than me, would break
out his little acoustic guitar and I would just stand there and sing! I wasn't shy in
those days :)

4...Put the foil from gum on my teeth and pretended I had braces. Yeah, I know. But
I was really young! We do stupid things when we're kids ;)

5...Had a pet goose

6...Vowed that when I grew up, I would eat ice cream and candy and potato chips
every single day!

7...Received a locket for Christmas from my third grade teacher.

8...Stole my mom's copy of Helter Skelter and read it. Then wished I hadn't.

9...Wrote my first story about some kid who spit toothpaste out of her mouth when
someone said something funny. That's all I remember about that story!

10..Was sure that if I concentrated hard enough, I would discover that I had
magical powers ;)

11..Learned to use crutches

12..Started smoking. I was thirteen, and it took me a long, long time to finally quit!

13..Walked in my sleep. Luckily, I stopped!:)
